USPTO offering webinars on patents and copyrights

Filing an IP Application Electronically is the title of the webinar series running from August 12-14, 12-1PM CDT, hosted by the Minority Business Development Agency and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to help business owners understand the intellectual property process.

  • Tuesday, August 12th – Filing a Copyright Application
  • Wednesday, August 13th – Filling a Trademark Application
  • Thursday, August 14th – Filing a Patent Application

The USPTO recommends that you register as soon as you can because virtual space is limited.

Although filing logistics information is very important, the actual drafting of the patent and trademark applications and the understanding of the US laws involved have been subjects of study and controversy since the first patent was issued to Samuel Hopkins on July 31, 1790.   The PTO technology has made the logistics of filing much less onerous, but the drafting of the content has not been mechanized to any great extent.  Seek professional help.
