On November 22, 2013, the GCIPA and the LSBA Intellectual Property Law Section will present “Supporting the Entrepreneur” at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center. In recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week and National Entrepreneurs’ Day, sessions will cover local resources for entrepreneurs, using an online presence to market your business and invention, an IP law update, and ethics for the IP practitioner. CLE will be available. The event will be followed by a networking reception. To register and for more information, please visit the GCIPA website, www.gcipa.org.
Just before the upcoming GCIPA meeting, at the same location (1441 Canal Street, New Orleans), the New Orleans BioInnovation Center is hosting Innovation Louisiana.
This event will provide a variety of sessions on issues ranging from IP to fundraising and general business issues. It will conclude with a mock negotiation between a seasoned entrepreneur (Nic Perkin) and a local capital source (Clayton White).
Aside from this event we have partnered with the ACG on a lunch to be held at the Roosevelt. With Hector Alila as the keynote speaker, we will learn about his experiences with Esperance and the challenges he has faced bringing his technology through Phase II clinical trials (see the invitation below).
You can exhibit at this event at the Stennis Space Center to network with government agencies and prime contractor companies that might be looking for your kind of help.
